Dear Parents/Guardians,
Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu!
It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as your child’s grade 5 teacher. My name is Ahmed Qureshi and I look forward to educating your child this year with great enthusiasm, care and diligence.
I have successfully completed two degrees throughout my academic pursuits. I completed the Honours Bachelor of Arts program in Public Administration and Governance from Ryerson University as well as the Bachelor of Education program at Brock University specializing in the Primary/Junior stream. I have also completed the tribes training course, intermediate ABQ courses for English and Health & Physical Education as well as part 1 of the Islamic Teacher Education program.
As a student of Islamic Foundation School, your child has the unique opportunity to build a Muslim identity and develop the skills necessary to become responsible global citizens. With this in mind, my focus will be on highlighting Islamic teachings that encourage students to develop good character and strong leadership skills while becoming Islamically conscious and civically responsible. This will take place in a classroom that is inclusive, democratic, cooperative and encouraging.
My focus will also be on using effective instructional practices that will help your child learn but also provide them opportunities to put what they have learned into practice. It is my hope that this balance will maximize your child’s ability to achieve the highest learning outcomes.
I look forward to my second year at Islamic Foundation School and becoming acquainted with students, parents and the community. Aside from teaching grade 5, I will be involved in many sports and extracurricular activities such as: coaching basketball, soccer, and hockey as well as being involved with DECA, Student Council and Boys sports day.
I can be contacted by email at [email protected]
or you can call the school office to book an appointment with me.
Sincerely,
Ahmed Qureshi
